CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Jan. 31, 2012) Electronics Technician 3rd Class Richard Zapada, assigned aboard Riverine Command Boat (RCB) 802, attached to Riverine Squadron (RIVRON) two, mans an M240 machine gun even though conducting a route reconnaissance mission off the coast of Camp Lejeune, N.C., in the course of exercise Bold Alligator 2012. Bold Alligator is the biggest amphibious exercising in the previous ten years and represents the Navy and Marine Corps’ revitalization of the complete range of amphibious operations. The exercising focuses on today’s fight with today’s forces, while showcasing the positive aspects of seabasing. The exercise will take location Jan. 30 by way of Feb. 12, 2012 afloat and ashore in and about Virginia and North Carolina. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class R.
